Welcome to the Sumter County Career Center!

The mission of the Sumter County Career Center is to prepare all students for the twenty-first century workforce or Post-Secondary Education

Welcome to the first semester of the 2010-11 school year.  Our first Open House went extremely well.  Board members from both school districts as well as county council were present.  Parents displayed an overwhelmingly active stance in their children's education as they enjoyed the new technology at the Career Center.

As always, the Career Center doors are always open for our students and parents. Please take advantage of our website and check the calendar regularly for reports, interims and when report cards are issued. We look forward for your continued support as the school year progresses.

WE ARE A CAREER CENTER THAT WORKS
The Sumter County Career Center is participating in a national improvement initiative called Career and Technology Centers That Work. Our purpose is to:

  • create supportive relationships between students and adults. These relationships involve providing students extra help to meet challenging course standards and support to make sucessful transitions from home high school to technology centers and from high school to postsecondary studies and careers with improved readiness for college and careers.
  • work as teacher advisers with parents, students, and home high schools to set goals and to help students take the right courses to complete a program of study that prepares them for postsecondary studies and careers.
  • establish common planning time and professional development aligned with school improvement plans that focus on providing quality teaching and learning activities.
Feel free to stop by and see all the wonderful things taking place at our school.
